Clemson suspends Booker and Smith for tonight’s exhibition game

Devin Booker will sit out tonight

Clemson basketball coach Brad  Brownell announced this morning that he’s suspended senior forward Devin Booker and freshman forward Josh Smith for tonight’s exhibition game against Lander.  Brownell cited the standard a “violation of team rules” as the cause for the suspension.

Both Booker and Smith will be back for the Tigers season opener on November 12th against Presbyterian.

Booker is the leading returning scorer on this year’s team. Last season he averaged just over 10 points per game. He also led the team in rebounding, averaging seven boards per game.

Clemson and Lander will play at 7:00 tonight at Littlejohn Coliseum in the Tigers lone exhibitions game prior to the start of the regular season.
