How about a little week three saber-rattling between USC and Clemson!?!?
Steve Spurrier didn’t mention any names Saturday, but it wasn’t hard to figure out which “Clemson coach” he was referring as he wrapped up his post game press conference after a 48-10 win over East Carolina.
“I think we had 50 plays at halftime. That Clemson coach would be proud of us,” Spurrier said as he was chuckling and leaving the podium. ”But we only had 24 in the second half, we went back to playing sort of like we do a lot.”

When asked about it Tuesday Clemson coach Dabo Swinney responded, “I did not hear that, but Chad Morris told me. So evidently someone told Chad. …I don’t really have anything to comment, I mean, that’s great. It means they’re doing a great job on offense to get that many plays.”

This is pretty light-hearted stuff, but it is still interesting these two are talking about each others programs this early in the season. It is most likely an indication of mutual respect and is most definitely fun to watch and listen to.

Sounds like [redacted] envy…
Hey daybo, my friend’s cousin’s husband had a sister who had a hairdresser that said something about clemson. OMG, did you hear about it?
Seriously, daybo, you sound like a freaking high school girl.
That’s because he is a high school girl and cheerleader I might add. Spurrier owns this little dweeb and he is gotten sooooooo under Dabos skin. Kinda reminds me of when Spurs owned Ray Goff down at Georgia.
Kevin, really? You think this indicates mutual respect”", give me a list of mutual anything among these two. Short list! Hope Spurrier smacks those “rose colored” glasses off dabo for good come November. Thought it interesting dabo thought Clemson and auburn have a rivalry, look at clem’s win %. Maybe his grandkids won’t see that one become rivalry either.
@Hiatt…speaking of win percentages…hows that one going for your team vs Clemson…25 more years to catch up did you say? Oh, wait, didn’t this whole story start with Spurrier making the shot first? And Dabo’s the high school cheerleader? Who’s really the drama queen…as it sounds like Spurrier is since he can’t focus on his win against an unranked ECU without cracking at the Clemson coach about their success (though not mentioning a near loss to Vanderbuilt and their yardage lacking “star” running back that was held to very small yards in that “win”). So week one, which team had the #1 rushing yeards runningback…it wasn’t South Carolina..
We won’t have to wait for next year because it’s here. #4 in a row. GOOOOOOOOOOOO Cocks
