RB David Williams of Philadelphia has USC among his final six. He named USC, Tennessee, Wisconsin, California, Ohio State and Nebraska as those schools in no order. He anticipates setting up official visits as early as next week. “I want to take all five,” Williams said. “I know I’m going to South Carolina, Tennessee and Wisconsin but haven’t decided on the other two.” The Gamecocks continue to show Williams a lot of interest. “They tell me I’m their number one guy (at running back),” he said. He has not taken any visits of late nor does he have a time frame for a decision.
USC commitment DB Brendan Langley of Marietta, GA does plan to take other official visits besides his one to USC. Langley posted on Twitter, “Need to set up my officials soon.” Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and Florida were the other schools in his top five when he committed earlier this month.
DL Jaynard Bostwick of Port St. Lucie, FL had shown some interest in USC early in the recruiting process but has not heard from the Gamecocks in some time. “I still get letters and stuff from them but I haven’t really talked to anyone,” he said. He did admit that could be on him saying, “I think they know I’m not that interested anymore and that’s why I haven’t heard from them.” Bostwick has favored Miami in the past but now has a top five. Along with the Hurricanes, he has Alabama, Oregon, Florida and LSU in no order. Bostwick does not believe a USC visit in his future.
Junior WR Shaq Davidson (6-1 175) of Gaffney was on his way to a big sophomore season until he tore the ACL in his right knee in week seven. Prior to the injury, Davidson had 29 catches for 683 yards and 8 touchdowns. Davidson spent the off season rehabbing the knee and is now 100%. He did not make it to camps over the summer but did visit North Carolina. “I want to take a lot of visits this season,” Davidson said. Right now his strongest recruiting is coming from USC, Ohio State, Georgia and North Carolina. They have offered along with Clemson, Wake Forest, Tennessee and NC State. Davidson does not have favorites though his two favorite college players were AJ Greene (Georgia) and Terrell Pryor (Ohio State). Davidson said he has not thought about when he wants to even think about making a decision.
