WR Tyree Harris (6-3 185) of Marietta, GA visited Clemson for the spring game and plans to return for a camp. And there he hopes to land an offer from the Tigers. “If I go to summer camp and show out they will offer on the spot,” Harris said. Kentucky has told him the same thing. Harris met with Clemson receivers coach Jeff Scott while at the spring game. “The coaches are real cool,” he said. “I liked the facilities and how they do things around there.” He has also been to Troy, Mississippi State and Kentucky. He plans to visit Missouri and Duke. Harris has offers from Boston College, Central Florida, Mississippi State, Missouri, Cincinnati and Syracuse. He does not have a favorite. Last season Harris had 50 catches for 875 yards and 8 touchdowns.
College football recruiters are making a bee line to Pendleton High School to check in on DL Michael Hill. Coach Paul Sutherland said Clemson’s Brent Venables was in on Monday and a Florida recruiter visited Tuesday. USC’s Shawn Ellliott will be in to see Hill on Thursday and Alabama’s Chris Rumph will be in on Friday. Hill is still focused on the same eight schools according to Sutherland…in no order Clemson, USC, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Ohio State and Michigan. Hill has visited Clemson, USC, Georgia Tech and Tennessee and will visit the other four early in the summer. He will trim his list after those visits and make his decision before the season.
JL Mann TE Zach Riggs (6-5 240) made a recent visit to Maryland and thinks the Terps might be the first school to step up with an offer. “I think they are close to offering,” said Riggs, the son of former Clemson and NFL tight end Jim Riggs. “They are going to come down to spring practice in May. They have three senior tight ends and will need one. I met all of the coaches. They are great guys. I watched them scrimmage. It was good to see their intensity.” Riggs has, of course, been to Clemson several times. He’s also visited Wake Forest and NC State. He said most of his interest is coming from Clemson, Maryland, Wake Forest and NC State. Last season Riggs had 12 catches for 286 yards and 2 touchdowns.
6-3 Willie Moore of Cincinnati is on his official visit to USC today. He will visit Oregon Monday and make a decision soon after that visit between the Gamecocks and Ducks. Moore was once a Duquesne signee but got out of that after the coaching change there. He then appeared headed to Virginia Tech but dropped the Hokies after the coaching change there.
6-8 Tevin Glass of Alpharetta, GA has a visit with USC set for May 5th and no other official visits planned at this time. He said Memphis is “most likely” going to get a visit, and “maybe” Murray State. Glass talked with Gamecock recruiter Matt Figger earlier in the week, and he also talked recently with Memphis coach Josh Pastner. Glass said Memphis continues to show good interest as well. He’s not claiming a favorite right now. He’d like to make his decision by the middle of May.
