USC sees slight gain in the latest baseball polls

Florida State is the new number one team in Baseball America’s poll. The Seminoles moved past Florida for the top spot. The Gators fell to seventh after losing two of three to LSU over the weekend.

USC moved up one spot to 10th in the poll.

The Seminoles also have the top spot in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll. Kentucky is second, with Texas A&M, Florida and Stanford rounding out the top five.

USC is ninth in the Coaches poll. The Gamecocks bounced back from a Friday night loss to take two of three from Tennessee over the weekend.

The Gamecocks are 5-7 in SEC play. They play host to the Citadel tomorrow night, travel to Francis Marion Wednesday night and then return home for an SEC series with Mississippi State this weekend.

Clemson remains unranked after sweeping Duke over the weekend.  The series sweep improves their ACC record to 8-7. The Tigers play Furman tomorrow night at Flour Field in Greenville. Wednesday night the play host to Georgia before opening a home series with N.C. State Friday night.
