Recruiting Report 2.15.12

DE Tyquan Lewis of Tarboro, NC was offered by USC Wednesday. He also has offers from Clemson, East Carolina, Virginia Tech, Duke, Wake Forest and North Carolina. He has been to junior days at Clemson and North Carolina and does not have a favorite.

DE Devin Washington of Orlando Wednesday landed an offer from USC. That’s the fifth offer for Washington. The others are from Central Florida, Cincinnati, Ole Miss and Illinois. He’s also hearing from Auburn, Florida, Miami, Georgia Tech, Syracuse and Utah. He has visited Miami and Auburn and plans to go to Florida’s junior day Saturday. He also plans to get to Illinois, Central Florida and USC.

DB Brendan Langley (5-11 170) of Marietta, GA picked up an offer from USC Tuesday. The Gamecocks and Georgia are his first two offers. Langley visited Georgia in January and plans a return trip in March. He also plans to visit USC this spring. Alabama, Florida, Miami and Tennessee also are showing interest in Langley. Last season he had 60 tackles with 6 interceptions.

TE Adam Breneman (6-5 225) of Camp Hill, PA has over 30 offers with USC among them. Others include Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Auburn, California, Washington, Stanford, Nebraska, Pitt, Virginia and Maryland. According to his father Brian, USC is a school Breneman would consider. “They are definitely in the top half of the schools he is considering,” his father said. “G.A. Mangus is recruiting him and he coached at Delaware Valley College where I played. There is a connection there.” Breneman could visit Columbia this spring. “We have to sit down and make some decisions,” Brian Breneman said. “South Carolina could be a school we visit. I do some business down there so it’s a possibility. We haven’t visited yet but we hear it is very nice so we would like to check it out.” Breneman has visited Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Alabama, Maryland, Virginia, Boston College and Rutgers. He is going back to Penn State Friday, Ohio State February 27th and Notre Dame March 24th. As a sophomore, Breneman caught 59 passes. As a junior he had 72 receptions for 1124 yards and 12 touchdowns. He does not have a leader.

DE/LB Corey Vereen (6-3 235) of Winter Haven, FL received an offer from Clemson Monday. The Tigers join Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Central Florida and South Florida as schools to offer the prospect. He is receiving interest from Florida, Florida State and Miami among others. Vereen has visited Clemson and is familiar with the school. “I like the facilities and the coaching staff,” Vereen said. “They have a good engineering program and I like the layout of the campus.” He plans to visit this spring to observe a practice. Vereen was at USF Sunday and is headed to Florida this weekend. He will visit Tennessee March 3rd. Vereen has also heard from USC. “It’s kind of off-and -on with them,” he admitted. He does not have any favorites but is showing interest in the Tigers.
