Former USC running back Jarvis Giles was given his full release by the team/school in late September, and has now announced his intention to transfer to Louisville.
Giles will be joining former USC and Florida defensive coordinator, now Louisville head coach, Charlie Strong. Strong helped recruit Giles while at Florida. Giles was in attendance this past Saturday to witness Louisville’s 56-0 destruction of Memphis. The RB was a 4 star recruit and third best all-purpose back in the 2009 class, according to Rivals.
The Tampa, Florida native finished his brief USC career with 54 carries for 289 yards, averaging 5.4 yards per carry with one TD. He also caught 5 passes for 26 yards.
Giles will finish the fall semester at USC before officially transferring to Louisville in the spring. He will be forced to sit out the 2011 season and becomes eligible to play in 2012.
