USC junior quarterback Stephen Garcia has been selected as the national Offensive Player of the Week by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, it was announced Sunday.
Garcia, a 6-2, 227-pounder from Lutz, Fla., threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns as 19th-ranked South Carolina recorded a 35-21 win over top-ranked Alabama. Garcia completed 17-of-20 passes and had scoring tosses of nine, 26 and 15 yards for the Gamecocks, who improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in the SEC.
In addition, Garcia is one of four players under consideration for the Capital One Cup Impact Performance of the Week. Fans can vote for Garcia at ESPN.com.
