Clemson freshman offensive lineman JK Jay will have back surgery Wednesday and he will not play this season. Freshman walk-on Phillip Price will move from tight end to the offensive line to add depth to that position.
Wide receiver Jacoby Ford is continuing to rehab his tender hamstring. He expects to be back on the field by Saturday’s scrimmage.
The team is being forced to vacate two practices because it wore too many pads in the early workouts last week. The thigh pads the players wore apparently put them past the limit of allowable pads.
Because of the violation Clemson will not practice tonight or Friday night.
