Clemson will be a #1 seed at home while USC and Coastal Carolina will be #2 seeds playing in the state of North Carolina in the NCAA Baseball Regionals. The 64 team field was announced today.
Clemson will face Tennessee Tech in the opening round Friday. Alabama is the #2 seed in that regional and will play #3 Oklahoma State in the other first round game. The winner of the Clemson regional will play the winner of the Arizona State regional in the Super Regional.
USC was assigned to the East Carolina regional and will play George Mason on Friday. East Carolina is the #1 seed and will play Binghamton in round one. The winner of the East Carolina regional will play the winner of the North Carolina regional in the Super Regional.
Coastal Carolina is headed back to Chapel Hill where the Chanticleers lost to the Tar Heels in last season’s Super Regional. The Chants will play Kansas Friday. North Carolina is the #1 seed and will play Dartmouth.
The top eight national seeds for the tournament are Texas, Cal State Fullerton, LSU, North Carolina, Arizona State, UC Irvine, Oklahoma and florida.
